The book Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone by J.K. Rowling is one of the best book (and eventually movie) I have ever read. The book is the first that has really made children all over the world interested in the one thing.
The book is about an 11 year orphan who is living with his harsh uncle and aunt. He doesn’t even know it but he is one of the most famous wizards in the eyes of a secret race of witches and wizards. When he finds this out, he also finds out that he has somehow been enrolled into a school for witches and wizards called ‘Hogwarts’ were he is to be protected from the evil Lord Vorldermort (who killed his parents when he was a baby who now wants to ‘finish off the job’) by the greatest wizard ever Albus Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall and Hagrid (BFG). During his time at the school he spends most of his time fighting evil teachers, fighting supernatural beasts and hanging out with his two best friends Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasly.
The author uses great measures of imagination which then is transferred into the readers from the book. Since it is so far being of reality, after reading it the reader craves to be one of the characters. That is one of the things I love most about the book. I find it amazing how one person could have thought all this up; flying broomsticks, flying broomstick games (Quidditch), 3 headed dogs, elixir of life (stone), spells, sorcerers and ghosts.
